Thanks - thanks for your input. i will keep in mind that you have a 002 for future reference. do you use the002 for your mobile recording? your studio lookd cool . where are you canada? thanks again greg

The 002 has 8 line level inputs so the direct outs from any mixer can feed it, which can get you started cheaply. I would go with the alesis ai3 for a cheap way to add 8 more ins and...

Is an adat all i need? - [quote:172efc6682] my tracks are always being ruined by one little pop[/quote:172efc6682] clicks and pops are usually caused by clock errors. make sure you have the clocking set to the correct defaults. alesis makes the ai3 .

If you get the right sound card, you can use the adat as a set of converters and transfer digitally to the computer via lightpipe. i don't know if that would be any cheaper than a motu unit...

Can you post some info on the size & shape of your control room? i'm wondering if you have some standing waves going on. That kind of problem is typical in project studios with no special acoustic design considerations. What...

Chaining up digi002s - don't forget the alesis ai3 optical patchbay or the apogee rosetta 800. both of which give you 8 ins [b:d6eb13fdd0]and[/b:d6eb13fdd0] outs.

You can chain multiple pt systems together using midi sync and clocking off one system. note that this must be done with 2 computers as well as 002s. you should instead just get an adat adapter in order...

You could get a 4 channel mic pre and connect that to the 5-8 line inputs on the 002 or you get an 8 channel pre (focusrite octo pre, presonus digimax..) that has a light pipe out and connect it...
