it looks like a less-than-perfect solution, but hey, the perfect is the enemy of the good.
hardcano 12 review.
so far, it's the first one i've seen that offers a way regulate speeds, not just set on/off points.

I got it yesterday and i'm extremely happy. It does everything exactly as advertised, smoothly changes the fan speeds and you can even program it to stop them.
