strange beep when i press the PTT on the radio.

when i use the new 1500mah battery i get a strange beep. i always drain the battery with the radio after each event that i do with my local ARES club. when I say that I drain the battery i mean that i leave the radio on till it shuts down from low battery then and only then do I charge it back up till the light comes on showing full charge.
